Charles “Chip” A. Brigham, III, Esq., OLTP

Senior Attorney

Chip is a practicing attorney and legal services partner in Northwest Law, as well as general legal counsel for the Northwest Title Family of Companies. Chip formerly owned and operated Buckeye Land Title, a family legacy, and a staple of Cincinnati’s west side for over 50 years. As of February 2020, Buckeye Land Title became a part of the Northwest Title Family of Companies, and Chip merged his law firm, Brigham & Brigham, into our firm.

Chip Brigham’s Areas Of Expertise

Chip’s practice involves representing buyers, sellers, investors, realtors, and lenders in commercial and residential real estate transactions, and related matters. He also helps clients with small business formations, ongoing general counsel, probate, estate planning, and other matters that stem from the real estate practice. In his role for Northwest Title, Chip provides guidance and legal counsel on real estate transactions in the Greater Cincinnati market, provides leadership on a variety of internal policies and practices, oversees the company’s title claims matters, and is frequently found in the closing room servicing customers. In addition, Chip is a frequent lecturer for various real estate, title, and legal groups on real estate matters. He is a former instructor of Paralegal Studies at the College of Mount St. Joseph where he taught courses on advanced real estate and estate planning.

His Volunteering Experience & Formal Designations

Chip has also volunteered his time and expertise to advance the needs of Ohio’s land title industry, by serving as the Ohio Land Title Association’s Board President for 2019-2020. He has received the designation of Ohio Land Title Professional by the Ohio Land Title Association and received recognition by the “Best Lawyers in America” for real estate law in 2018. He currently chairs the Legislative Review Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association Real Property Law Section Council and is a member of the OSBA Ohio Title Standards Task Force. He has authored public information real estate law pamphlets published by the OSBA.

Outside of the Office:

Chip is an avid hiker and gets to the woods and mountains whenever possible. He enjoys working in his yard, walking his dogs, and spending time with his grandson, Jackson.
